Who is the FPV Freedom Coalition?
- The FPV Freedom Coalition is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit advocating the FAA for our Right to fly FPV.
What have they done for the hobby?
The FPV Freedom Coalition has donated thousands of hours of volunteer time to:
- Engage with the community on the status of regulations, FAA developments, and what’s coming next.
- Build strong relationships with other organizations and leaders across the industry to strengthen support for FPV.
- Respond directly to the FAA’s Remote ID NPRM in March 2020, providing critical feedback on behalf of the FPV community.
- Participate in five FAA Drone Advisory Committee (DAC) Tasking Groups, leading two sub-groups, presenting results three times since June 2019, and influencing every set of recommendations delivered to the FAA.
- Provide free education on safety and regulations through their website.
What began as a focus on FAA regulatory engagement has now expanded to include work with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on spectrum access and the Department of Commerce on tariff issues impacting the FPV industry.
The FPV Freedom Coalition is also an active member of:
- ASTM Remote ID Working Group
- Drone Safety Team
- Drone Advisory Council
- FAA Safety Team
